I picked up my Griff 500 yesterday, and had my first run in with a Z3 2.8, the blond driving obviously didn't know what 5 ltrs of britains finest could do!

Mike/Alan(??),
Congrats on the car and thanks for the tip on the Window lube.

On the Z3 front, she was obviously having one of those blonde moments. I try to resist the temptation to race with other cars as I got 6 points on my licence last year (treated those robbing cops (work that one out) to a Xmas hamper I guess). There are some cars however that I find it extremely hard to resist, a Z3 is prob one of them along with most Beamers. The occasion that most impressed me with the cars performance was following a 911 Carrera 4. Matey in front was trying to get away and the griff just drove up his backside. If any police are reading this, this was on an abondoned airfield that we'd mistakenly turned onto.

Enjoy the car

p.s.
What did you go for, colours etc?

Hi Mate
Its Alan (i was on Mike's PC).

I know what you mean about Beemers, my favorite are boxsters (in the Cerb) mind you I had an Boxster "S" stay with me up to about 70. All very juvenile, but what the hell.

That wickes lube is bloody excellent, far better than the spray stuff the dealer used.

Smoooooothe mate.

Boxster S, oh come on surely not, in a cerbie?. The only reason I bought the Griff was to p155 all over me bro's S.

I went for the Halfords rubber and vinyl lube as the shop was just round the corner from where I work, it's made a bit of a difference but still slow, it's prob the motor giving up. Might try some of the wickes stuff before lookng at a replacement motor.

It's slower! but I expected that but it seems to be easier to drive fast on crap surface roads (basically all of them then) I took it up the A34 and managed 20-30 mph faster than the cerb!
Whats happening next weekend?
hows the tusc, didn't see her at fernies when i was there this week.

Ahem. Z3 M Roadster. 3.2 litre straight six. 321bhp. That's your big Munich brake horses, not the slightly optimistic Blackpool variety.

Don't get me wrong - I love TVRs - sold the M for a Griff then sold the Griff to race a Tuscan. But the Z3 slagging is all a little tiresome.

The Z3 was fine for what it was - a two seater roadster. It was aimed at MX5, MR2, Golf drivers etc.

If you want to compare your £36k when new TVR's against a Z3, then do it against the similarly priced M Roadster.

(By the way, when I could only have one car, I had the BMW. It was only when I was able to have 2 cars that I felt I could have the Griff. There's a reason for that!!).

I thought you were going for that 911, the griff is now in full residence, sorted the slow window and have ordered the "bible".
the griff is great fun, had a sideways moment the other night!
Could do with a larger fuel tank though!
Come round anytime

OK then, my Griff destroyed an M Roadster BEFORE I had the intake and chip enhancements. Pulled out over 10 car lengths between 30 and 100mph (on a test track under controlled conditions). And believe me the bloke was trying.

Not only that, the Z3 shape has aged quickly IMO and the interior looks very dull in comparison with a TVR.

Now, let us never mention the characters Z and 3 on the Griffith forum again (well in the same sentence anyway).
