Looks very good. Did it come with the clock retainer tags glued on as per original? I'm going to weld the tags on mine so just curious. I'm concerned some will fall off in years to come pretty much as they have now.

Do you have pics of the rear please?
they asked me to pop off all the tags, and supply the panel flat.

i glued the tags on with araldite....after roughing (gouging) the metal on the rear. im not sure it would be easy to veneer the panel with the tags fitted....worth asking though as they are a PITA...

windscreen....whatever fits best. It was changed earlier in the year after it cracked, but they badly damaged the vinyl windscreen trims when removing it, so they are changing it out FOC and have paid for the replacement of all the screen surround materials:. (the windscreen company that is)....nowt to do with sportmotive, though sportmotive will keep an eye on it for me im sure, and the their local fitter probably has better experience than the chap that did the screen originally.

Looking good, I might be tempted into a 7" conversion too.
i fitted HID shortly after i got the car, , so i wasn't going to get a 7 inch conversion, but after i decided to recolour the car, which needed the pods painting, it seemed foolish not to.....well, that was my justification.

I am sure they will provide more illumination than just the HID though, the plastic lenses on the griff do seem to dim the light output

What colour is your car. Ocean Haze? Nice, understated and getting ready for a big statement!.

Edited by EGB on Monday 22 October 22:08
I always liked ocean haze, but wanted something a little darker, as the biscuit interior was quite a strong colour, so i went off to the motor paint shop armed with pieces of interior, and went through a load of colour swatches till i found something i liked, that worked with the old interior colour.

I had them mix a can of spray for me, which i then sprayed onto some acetate just to make sure i liked it after a while...i'm not good with colours so i asked my better half to assist in the choice.

its a mid 80's renault colour called vert atlantic......which was most commonly applied to their.....espace.....

i do keep thinking the wheels might look good anthracite though......

where did you get your bonnet heatshield from?
i bought a fewe meters from woolies i think, or maybe ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Heat-Shield-Aluminised-M...

it feels like the TVR stuff, just thicker.

ive used it on the bulkhead, by the headers and on the underside of the bonnet.

kevlar thread works well if you are in the mood to sew it yourself.......

I thought the Aston green would look very good but I have no idea it would look quite like that. Wow.... stunning. cool

I think that would be my new choice if I where to spec my dream Griff. 4.3 Big Valve in that colour with a biscuit interior cloud9

Keep the updates and pics coming... I am really looking forward to seeing the end result.
thanks

even Ian at sportmotive (who isn't a fan of green cars) kinda likes it.... (or at least thats what he tells me!)

but i have to confess its not an aston green,,,its renault espace vert atlantic.....but ive had quite a few ask which aston green it is

it now sports a new front screen, which seems to fit so much better than my old one, some corrado mirrors, as i couldn't see out of the old drivers one very well...........and is having the wheels flatted for repaint, but i still am undecided on colour.

The interior is remaining biscuit, with the biscuit colour elise seats, but ive had a tvr logo subtly embroidered into the headrests.....about the same size as the logo on the nose...i want this car to be....more reserved in appearance than some of my other cars

been a while, work is crazy, but Ian delivered the griff back after paint today. was good to hear it running again

still a few little bits to do (speedo....well doesn't, nor does the rev counter, but thats about it. its just a case of fiddling with the ecu so it all talks to each other

new dash, carpets etc. still got to fit the radio when ive finished calibrating the speedo etc

[url]

and i decided to keep the wheels silver

and had the trimmer embroider a subtlishTVR logo into the elise leather seats
