The TVR cams are all special grinds from Kent cams, TVR may claim to use a Hybrid 218 ? which can mean anything, i.e loosly based on a 218, in reality they aren't the same as a 218 not even close, many cars have had the 218 fitted as an upgrade, I've never known TVR in recent years quote regular Kent numbers, unless they've changed this with the latest cars.

I presume my current Cam is a 218 but want to go for something which will provide a little more power as part of a upgrade package I'm doing in the next few weeks (Plenum, cam, chip etc). TVR Power recommend a 'TVR 377/21' as part of their package but I can't find anyone else who has ever heard of it ??? The others, recommended the 404 and 234. If anyone can provide comparitive benefits of each, I'd be most grateful.

When I (well Andy at APM on my behalf ) spoke to TVR Power about a cam change they had never knowingly fitted a 218 to a TVR . As I said before the TVR51 cam is a goodish broad based cam if you want to stay original but not sure about 500 applications for it. Power do fit non TVR cams or more correctly versions of non TVR design, ones that spring to mind are the 214 and 234 .
