Just a quickie...

I recall these may have come from a DIY shop originally? Which one chap(ess)s?

Or does anyone have a spare one I could have?

Mines looking a little crappy at the moment and failed yesterday - should get it back in but doesnt look long for this world!

cheers

I've never been able to find the said B&Q item.
The cheap quality plastic thingies always break so I've got a brass ball and socket door catch on mine not as elegant with the push release but it won't disintergrate. biggrin

B&Q Auto latch for loft, zinc plated, N227
BARCODE NUMBER
0320 8786
Details taken from packaging.

It does seem to go out of stock quite often. I had do visit 3 branches, one of them twice before I caught them with one.

Note to self. Buy a few spares next time. Sorted the problem a treat.

Graham, Which one do you have,The crappy little plastic one that desintegrates if slammed shut by heavy handed passenger, or the galvanised metal loft catch?
I have one of each so drop me a mail if you want me to post one to you.

Where did you purchase sed item BJ ?
any diy shop, kitchen door, etc catch

Took it apart, remove magnet, attach it to something to stop it falling completely through the hole, DON't fix it securely, let it move a bit.
ie magnet, bottom of capital T.

glove box, small metal plate, 2 little bolts to secure.
job done.

You can get a central locking solenoid in the side of the box, with a locking module and a new switch, it then becomes secure. I can send details of how to do it, if there is anybody interested. I will send it to BB anyway.

I enquired about this when I bought your remote boot locking kit so I'd be interested David. Thanks

The main body of the catch is screwed vertically to the inside of the dash on the right of the box.

The hook screws to the glovebox lid near the corner to align.

I will edit a photo in when I get time.

Fester

Editted to say.

I just spotted the numbers under the dash in the last photo. I had never noticed them before.

Anyone know what they mean?
