How often should these be changed. Got 8.5 Mag leads(looks the dogs) but should the shrouds be changed as well. Foxhall dealer wants £70 for 8. Sounds expensive to me.

Should be able to get them for about a fiver each plus vat etc. Try RT racing 0114 281 7507 (formally Wedge). I have been told they are not always needed and a freind has removed them on his V8's with now problems of burnt HT leads, but get confirmation this is ok first!

Even new shrouds can cause problems,you could have a look in the Demon Tweeks catalogue at the heat resistent plug/lead 'Boots' I used these to cure misfire that new shrouds didn't they seem to give the lead a better contact and more secure fitting to the plug.Look great too.

those shrouds caused me problems on my Chimaera 450, changed them all and my engine was smoooooth!

These are early 90s Vauxhall service items - so do what I did - find a long established Vauxhall dealership and offer to take some of their old stock of their hands cheap. Be glad to get rid of some surplus stock at a couple of pounds apiece. The part number should be stamped on your existing ones or take one with you.

OPEL Mick OPEL i bought some recently for the Chim if any body wants the part number i kept the old ones in the boxes!!!(why) TONY
