How much for a new cat?
Discussion
Hi All,
Please - no jokes about going to the Blue Cross, or writing to Rolf Harris etc...
Took the front cantral exhaust section out on Friday and a part of the main cat fell out - about the size of a golf ball. Presumably that's not a good sign! The pre-cats were removed last week.
I guess its likely that the cat has been running very hot and has started to disintegrate - any idea how much a new one would be? Obviously I could just take it out and not replace it, but there's several schools of thought on that and (personally) it's not my preference.
Thanks,
Marlon.
P.S. Just had the V8D P404 cam fitted, with ported inlet manifold, ally trumpets, ACT twin-throttle plenum, Tornado chip. RR session with Mark next Tuesday... I'll give you the verdict next week!

OK, confession time...
When I say "I" took it off, what I really mean is that I watched someone else take it off while I held their mug of tea
V8 Developments did it, and it really didn't seem to involve too much trouble at all. Undo the three clamps, tug-and-wiggle to separate the lower exhaust connection (actualy, that was quite tricky ), and hey-presto. I'd guess that it took 15 mins in all.
