Amazing - i've had the Griff 2 years and just noticed a switch above the driver's door handle, underneath the dash. Not in my handbook, can't find it in the Bible, and there are a million threads with 'switch' in them. With ignition on, engine off, it makes no noise, and doesn't seem to have any discernable function when the engine is running

Any thoughts would be most interesting.

If it’s the L/H side of the wheel then, most likely its is the dash light switch turn on your lights and play with the button. The dash lights should go on/off, if not it could have been rewired as a fan override switch

Correct, LH side of wheel is the dash lights - it took me a drive home in the dark with no dash lights then a happy few minutes hunting for various blown fuses... I mean... EVERY car has a switch to turn the dash lights on and off don't they?

On the other hand... some lucky buggers have a switch under the dash on the r/h side of the steering wheel which apparently turns on a cold air vent... needless to say... I do not have one of these sensible things... but I can turn my dash lights on and off at will

Got one of them too, took me two seconds to identify that it was an astra light swich... and days to figure why it did not do anything

On the few occasions I've used that button...

...I have had a right load of trouble getting the lights to switch back on again!

Burriana - as one of the aforementioned "lucky buggers" with a switch on the right hand side... you ain't missing anything by not having one. In my experience it just offers the option of dumping double the usual amount of hot air onto your knees from that big blast furnace up front.
