wiring loom connection/ dead starter motor

was out in the griff earlier and came out to move the car from where i`d parked it as the top was down and the ash fall out from the `mount vesuvius barbeque` was going all over the car. went to fire her up but not a peep from the starter motor, the fuel pump and all other electrics seemed fine.i went to check the fuses in the passenger side footwell and moved the wiring loom which hangs down over the battery and the door locks clicked on and off. these must be on the same plug/circuitry as the starter as she then fired up quite happily---any one have this happen before? i`ll have to trace it soon as it`s bound to happen again sometime.---martin

Think you have to be careful with this assumption. You probably hit the door switch with your knee when you looked at the fuses!
