Guys,

My car has just had its 12000 mile service. Whilst driving home from garage, I noticed the idle tick revs was lower than normal...around 500rpm.

Then when pulling up to my first give way, it stalled. It did this at every stop.

Just thought I'd get some ideas from people, before I phoned the mechanic.

Cheers,

Martin

is it running a bit rough as well?

if he had cause to go and disturb the ecu then i would suggest you pull it all out and re-pack it.

my car ran rough, low/high idle, and stalling one day after i changed a fan fuse - must have disturbed something. took it all out and stuck it back in - all ok.

just a thought, though obviously something there is a bit loose ( or is that just the screws in my head? )

If the car was running fine before, it may just be unusual circumstances. For instance, something just like what you described happened to me on the way to Le Mans this year. The car was in bad traffic for a long time (45 mins) and just after that I topped up with fuel. This caused fuel vapourisation and sure enough, every time I stopped the engine died.

Following an over the phone diagnosis by David Batty (thanks David, you were a lifesaver that day) and a decent drive with airflow over the engine, the 'problem' went away. Could this be what happened to you? Has it happened again since?

Cheers,

Steve

I'm going out for a blast tonight So I will see how she behaves.

If it continues...it will be going back to the garage tomorrow lunchtime.

See You All Out There,

Martin
