warning light?

Driving to work this morning, went into reverse and the green light (below the red alternator light) lit up. I haven't got my handbook, the car is a 94 L 500. Is this anything to worry about??

According to my handbook ('96 car)its an indicator warning light. Would go out to the car for a looksee - but can't be bothered to move the Mundano & unlock the garage, sorry!

Is there a pattern on the light or is it just green? It could be the ice warning light I suppose, goes green, then orange then red as it gets colder and colder - at least the chimaera has one of these (with a snow flake on it) so maybe the Griff has one as well... ================ Graham and Rosie

I thought the manual said green, orange then red but mine only goes red, although when I turn the ignition on it flashes, very quickly, through the G, O, R sequence. Why doesn't it work properly?

Mine's the same. On (and red) or off. So it's not just me...

This doesn't answer the original but the reason the Griff ice warning light goes red constantly,well mine does, is apparently due to the simplistic wiring (in a TVR, shurely shome mishtake?)shorting out. It is relatively easy to complete the circuit I think. Not too hard to fix I'm told but I'm leaving it 'till next service(soon)

Maybe it's because:- green snowflake --------------- "You're in slight danger of falling off the road" amber snowflake --------------- "Oooer, 50-50 chance of hedging it" red snowflake ------------- "OMIGOD we're going to die!" Maybe TVR thought hard about this and realised that situation normal is "amber snowflake" and as soon as it's a little bit chilly you're into "red snowflake" territory. So they figured "why bother with green and amber?"

My Cerbie has one of these "Ice" warning lights. It does actually go Green/Amber/Red. But I think why bother because I can tell when it's cold enough for it to work..........my bloody doors are frozen up and I can't get into the damn thing!!!!!!!

In this case the light is a fail over device in case you were careless enough to park in a nice warm garage and so negate the frozen lock warning ================ Graham and Rosie

Redundancy in a Tiv no chance, ALthough i too fell victim of the frozen door buttons, couldnt get in to the dam thing without a kettle full of hot water.... Oh yes i was late as well.... Graham(Tall and thin with no apish tendancies before spunky has a go at Rosies other half again)

Funnily enough you're right Graham, my new house is currently being built and it will have a space in the garage for my Cerbie. Wahay!

nope no snowflake.. Its not the ice warning lamp which is part of the centre console, its the green light above the dials.
