Firstly, sorry for the long post and we’re talking a 1992 4.3 Griff.

I’m 5’8 with 31’ inside leg. I want to have the seat rake fairly vertical (to see as much bonnet as I can) but I like to maintain a comfortable distance from the steering wheel. So, having set that up, I’m now too far from the pedals. I’ve had a quick look tonight and I can see that I have about 1 inch of thread out the back of the pedal arm on both the brake and the clutch (although they look quite crudded up).

Therefore, it looks like I’m going to have to use all that thread and, if it isn’t enough, replace them with the Leven Tech extentions. I’d really like some advice from someone who’s done this on the following:

(1) If I take the pedals right up to the last bit of thread (ie. flush at the back) is the thread going to take the stresses (especially the clutch) ?
(2) The clutch pedal (which presumably has to be rotated) looks to me like it simply won’t make it past the transmission tunnel – will it ?
(3) If I go for the extensions, how much more thread will I get and will the stresses be even more of a consideration ?

Obviously, I don’t want to be sat in traffic and the clutch thread break – you can imagine where that’ll lead.

I be grateful for any guidance before I go to work on the pedals this weekend. Thanks.

Well done, how did you do it?

I've adjusted and slightly tightened the harnesses so the four point is further down. I think I was sliding forward in the seat which was lowering my view.
