as far as I remember these are real.
These figures were Autocars, probably achieved fairly brutally (but to get figures- all performance figures are brutally achieved)
TVR just quote the best figure from the mags, FOR some reason (lazyness?) Evo has the griff 4.3 the same as a griff 500(4.8) as I had both from new, I can assure you a new 500 has a bit more go than a 4.3 (so i'm guessing they did not retest)

Real world, it takes a good day, a good surface, and a driver that is NOT as sympathetic as most owners, to get the best figures...

So for bragging rights fair to quote 4.1 to 60 and 10.1 to a 100.

As they've all been tested the same way (if you quote autocar)

On Yokahama A032s, mine consistently does 64ft in 2.39 seconds. Don’t know if that helps. Perhaps someone more competent at maths than me could turn it into a 0-60 figure. Also it happily does 94 in third at just under 6k rpm (finish line speed trap not speedo) so with two more cogs left the top speed must be fairly high.

I got my standard 500 upto 144 (GPS verified) in a foreign country last year with passenger and full boot of luggage and I reckon, the way it was still pulling, it would easily have touched 160. The Chim in front (4 litre) was struggling at this level and, incidentaly, when I accelerated sharply he also advised me he had to drop a gear to keep up!

Dropping a cog at 144mph seems like a BAD idea hehe

The best way to find out is go to Santa Pod on a 'run what you brung' day.

The factory quoted Standing quarter in 12.2 sec and 0-100mph in 10.5 sec for a Griff 500.

Spend a day there and see how close you can get to the factory figures.

you'll need to practice getting off the line right to get a good time and your gear changes will have to be spot on.

i would think if you can get a 'clean' run on a dry day with good tyres you should be very close to the factory figures.

i'm going to go and have a go myself (as soon as i get my new clutch).

There must be some folks on here who have already done this, it would be interesting to see some standing quarter times posted.

A couple of years ago, a few of us from Warks TVR went to the Trax event at Silverstone. As well as a track day there was a 0-60 test. I only did one run as my rear diff mounting had worked loose and I put in a time of 4.65 seconds with a virtually standard 5.0 litre, the only mods I had then were a cam, pre-cats removed and sleeved silencer. Now the car's been Taraka-ed and it is definatley quicker. All the other cars put in sub 5 sec times the quickest being an early Tuscan with around 4.4ish IIRC. I think I could've shaved a few fractions off my time but daren't risk it due to the diff problem. So I think sub 5 secs are achievable with a standard 5.0 litre. As far as top speed, I've only ever managed to get around 150MPH before running out of track but it would've gone quicker given the road.
