Before I break the bloody things, does anyone know how to get the side indicators off? Do they slide forward or back or just pull out?
(I want to take one down to the local motor factor to get some clear ones).
What are they from? Escort or something isn't it?

You can just pull them off, there'a metal sping type clip one side and a plastic lip the other so try both sides and you should get it off. I think they're off a Ford.

There is a plastic springy clip in the assembly that requires the unit to be moved to one side to release but mine are peel off/Halfords double-sided-spongy-`trim`taped on, the clip part having been previously cut off. Ford items, clear will look great on your dark car. Mine also has clear front indicator lenses, courtesy of previous owner. No idea where from but complement the side repeaters.

The lenses are from a Fiesta. I replaced mine in 99 if that helps with the model.

I also had to file away part of the hole to get the new lenses in, which being a brand new car, disturbed me a little.

Good luck.

Thanks everyone. They required a disturbing ammount of force, but gave way before the fibreglass did in in the end!
Went to the local Ford dealer who could do the orange ones for £3.50 but said that Ford don't do clear ones.
So, quick trip to motor factor and £10 later I have some very smart new clear indicator thingys. Look much better than in orange.

The front indicators are off british military vehicles. Not sure if they are used for any civilian vehicles, but they are a screw on fit (glued in place on the griff and tuscan I think) that are used on everything from landrovers to Challenger tanks.

If you know anyone who is serving they should be able to get you a couple - they come in yellow, red and white and are all the same fitting

Cheers,

Pete
