Just wondered. Brother in law is looking at a new RR Sport diesel and he has heard a few people say that they are getting good lease deals.

We are open to lease or outright purchase so just a enquiry to the PH massif to see if there are any good deals to be had anywhere smile

Also, I know it a daft question on the RR forum, but are they as good as the BMW X3 from a reliability point of view. It will not be used off-road in anger, needs acceptable but not blistering performance, and the level of fittings is a strong consideration as it for his wife and kids as the daily car.

Any input appreciated smile

Cheers smile

I am unsure whether all the main dealers will have near as dammit the same deals or not. Our local in Hull is Stratstone, which I am loathed to deal with as their customer service when we were looking at their BMW showroom was dreadful, so much that it cost BMW a sale, not that it would make much difference to them!

I've just bought a 12 month old one from Guy Salmon at Knutsford.

Thought about buying new, but you can save quite a bit on a 6-12 month old one.

Pick it up next week.

And they have to boost their revenue by placing google adverts on the site?

Bought a 2008 model TDV8 in September brand new and as a driving machine far better than all the ML`s and x5`s that we have had.(5 in total).Downside is you d o get classed as a drug dealer.
There are a few problems with them, main one being the anti roll bar that Land Rover will do everything but replace which is the only cure.
If you can put up with small niggly problems you cannot go wrong.
GO for the TDV8,as the V6 is really gutless to the point of when you use the kick down no difference in road speed loads of engine roar.People will say super chip etc,but just buy the V8,i feel the residual will be better as fewer around.Econony around 25mpg.
As to discounts i managed to get £2100 off the list price but i did have to search for that, don`t know what they are doing now.Heard rumours that RR were trying to stop giving discounts to increase the residuals.Imports are probably cheaper but you loose that difference and more on resale.Who wants to own an import deep down if a UK car long term would cost the same.
Any other advice let me know

Thanks guys. I think it will boil down to value for money as Stephen is not hugely bothered about speed, although it shouldn't be noticeably poor.

I will let him have all the info smile

As a fellow F-car guy, you should speak to Karl Verdi - he has a great contact and can get RR Sport's really cheap. Give him a bell.

Thanks. If Stephen decides he is definitely going the RR route I will give him a call. It is tricky as I know that he would prefer going to a local dealer where you can go back with any problems, but they are not always the best value.
