50th exhaust done
Discussion
Well after many hours yesterday the exhaust is done on the 90.Well i say exhaust. In the end it was stainless steel sports pipes right up to the middle box.Fitted the rear sports box, and to be honest it did nothing to the sound what so ever. The original rear box is quite small as it is,so the introduction of a slightly smaller sports box didnt fair much better. The solution was to cut out the rear altogether. Now i have a nice burble on tickover and pulling away,But without the drone of a fulll sports system.
On my last 90 V8 I had a Rimmer Bros full s/s sports system including tubular 4-2-1 s/s headers. It was very well-designed to tuck up into the chassis with a shallow flat middle box and no back box. Sounded fabulous, but not too loud, just a big fruity burble at low revs and great roar higher up helped by carbs and K&N's. It cost £365 but survived many years of hard off-roading and bashing on rocks without complaint. Well worth the money!
Hello,
on my 50th I used an Magnaflow Y pipe with high flow catalytic converters and Borla cat back system.
