few defender questions

hi,
looking for some help on a few things...
1. what engine oil d'you recommend for a defender 90 with a 300tdi auto conversion?
2. tyre pressures - i've heard 30 front and 34 rear, is this right?
3. soome drips of black stuff from big round thing in the middle of the front axle, can i top it up, likely causes?

for the oil change, use a semi synthetic 10w40, the tyre pressures depend on weather your towing etc but as a rule on a 90: 28psi front 38psi rear. the big round thing is the front diff and the oil is probably leaking from the pinion seal, get it to a garage and have it checked, if it is the pinion seal then its nothing major. top it up with 80w90 oil. hope this helps
