due to thier brilliant value now im thinking about getting one, probably around P or R reg, im sick of my current car and have wanted an RR for ages and seeing as how ones with under 100k and some even with LPG can be had for around the £5k mark now it really does seem a good time to buy, originally i was thinking about a DSE but ones with a few miles on can be overworked and thier underpowered, my main question was does the 4 litre suffer the same engine block problems that the 4.6 does? or is it not overbored and the heating and cracked block problems do not seem to occur in these?

saw a 4 litre se on autotrader, with 57k on the clock and a few extras for £4500 it looks promising, what is the fuel economy of the 4 litre like?, noticably better than the 4.6 or not really?

there are a few 4.6s with LPG that are available for a reasonable price however the ones that look great seem to all be in a nasty colour or have that tan leather interior which i belive it was a faux pas for Land Rover to even offer.
also to tell the truth if i could get 20 mpg out of a 4.6 i would buy one and drive as is without LPG but when i used to drive one around it was a nightmare 12-14 ,pg at best although i think it may have been running a little rich, it certainly smelt that way.

does anyone know if you can fit a later ECU to an earlier car?

when i used to drive my brothers 4.6 the air suspension would play up ocasionaly, certainly the system on the L322 is a huge improvement, sorry about the tan leather thing it just doesnt appeal to me personally, grey is fine, cream with black piping is great and have even seen a few with black, the 4 litre and 4.6 now seem to be brilliant value even over the DSE which i was thinking about first of all.
