I have been looking into the idea of fitting an electric cooling fan to my series 2a. A Kenlowe is arond £140.

Plan B - DIY!

the Ford Mondeo radiator top hose has a fitting for the thermal switch. this is like a 'tee'. the plan is to use this switch and an electric fan to make the system. I will let you know how this works on a Land Rover.

I can confirm that the Mondeo top hose fits perfectly with a little trimmed from each end. That's the temperature sensor in place, the electric fan should just be down to fabricating a couple of mountings.

further advice please ruari
how did you select a fan switch by temperature? my experience of buying these things is walking into halfords and asking for "a fan switch for...."

can't help wondering if the standard mondeo item might run the engine a bit hot before it kicks in?
