I think my RR needs a service, it feels like it does. The last one was over a year ago and before I owned it, however the service interval warning reckons it has over 7000 mils to go! (Maybe I drive too gently...)

Normally I'd just get it done, but on the VIP pack servicing is free for 5 years or 70 odd k miles. So can I have it done early or do I have to wait until the car tells me it needs servicing?

I've trawled the LR website and a few other places, can't find any specifics. I'm not the first owner and don't have the Ts & Cs, but it is transferrable and has been transferred to my name. Just got a card, no Ts and Cs.
I could just go in and ask, but they're likely to say no!
Any ideas/opinion/experience of the VIP pack on here?

What doesn't feel right that makes you think it needs a service? (Just out of interest) I'd think you wouldn't notice unless there was something actually wrong with the car, in which case it might need more than just a service?

The car still goes nicely, it seems a little rougher than it used to be, fuel consumption has got a little bit worse (could just be the cold weather), hand brake has gradually gone from dubious to useless (it's not an electric parking brake)and gear changes seem more obvious. But mostly the oil is black and smells bad! You know the kind of sour smell that oil gets when it's well past it's best.

At the very least it needs an oil/filter change and the handbrake adjusting right now and might benefit from new plugs. Normally I'd just do it, but the car has this free 5 year service deal.
