We finished +15% (value) for Mother's Day (branded chocolate). Decent result but I think the whole market will have been flat at best.

Saturday was particularly weak v 2023 and it's usually the biggest day by far..

At least it’ll kill you early so reduces suffering..

A light KFC here is €35 for two, almost double the BK (apparently)

Worth every penny when you see the queue at BK vs the KFC biggrin all a matter of perspective hehe

Not bad! I went to M&S last summer and bought a couple of sandwiches, crisps x 2 and drinks and it was over £15.00!

Once the parcels starts ramps-up again in April, I’m going to be doing 20 hour days, 7 days a week.

There's grafting and there's working yourself into an early grave. Is 20 hours a day even possible? Showers, dinner, breakfast must leave about 3hrs for sleep.

I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew. frown
That sounds dismal .................. is it essential you live only to work. I'd have though it's not safe to drive after a series of 20hr days with massive sleep deprivation.

It isn’t going to happen. Not for more than a day or two.

Don’t bite. Says the same thing endlessly and never takes any of the plentiful advice on offer.

I was in our local Mini / BMW dealership today. It's a very, very big place.

There was staff everywhere, giving me welcoming smiles. I was, however, the only non-staff there and I was only passing through to the body shop.

It was utterly dead.

I left site trying to reconcile the massive overheads of a place like that and the volume of sales I suspect they are doing. I think BMW has to be one of the marques most in trouble at the moment, as the aspirational middle class tighten their belts.
They seem to be trying to compensate for how busy they aren't by charging plenty for work.

They have just sent through a quote for a minor repair that is six (6) times greater than the next nearest quote.

Wife and I have Vitality health insurance and we 'earn' by dint of doing the exercise we always did in any case, free Cafe Nero coffee each week. We usually drop by once a week to redeem it as packets of beans (rather than beverages) for our coffee machine at home. It is an eyeopener what people, even kids, spend in there on food and drink, and also how expensive it is.

Pizza express is the killer these days. Nearly impossible to get a bill under £50 for myself, wife and child.

The topic of inflation, yes, but the price of supermarket meal deals, no.

Hate to break it to you but supermarket meal deals are no more immune from inflation than anything else. They've been pointed out in here for good reason.
