This thread's just given me an idea biggrin
if my input to this thread had anything to do with this idea i want it smile
Nah, I'll probably never do it anyway, I was thinking of creating a weatherproof device that allows you to attach an alarm fob to an ignition key, it's for bikers really!
That's a relief. I thought it might have been inspired from my paragraph that starts with, "Cunning twist." wink

Another thing you could do is a bit of research into girls names then print a nice tag with the name and some ponsy words about the meaning of the name - girls love that kind of thing and would pay £1 at least to have it in a keyring.

If you're feeling really cheeky, you could go into Clintons with a camera phone, take pictures of such items and use very similar text.
Great idea, cheers

Im just thinkng if Makro or Costco sells batches of keyringsscratchchin
79p for 4.
frown OMFG and i spent over £2 for 5, Im off to hobbycraft next time.
Increased profits on the cards then biggrin

Entrepreneurs have access to grants/money....I dont. I occasionaly wash the cars though so I am keeping the income steady...but im about to start studying a course at college so I would rather concentrate on that first. Once again thanks for all your advice and guidance, I won't forget it wink

Entrepreneurs don't usually have access to grants and money at all.

I spent ages at uni learning about the Prince's Trust, Small Business Loans Guarantee scheme etc, but the reality is that you will hardly ever qualify anyway.

Bank wouldn't even offer me a loan on the guarantee scheme because 'only' 90% or something was guaranteed and I had no property to sign over for the last £1000...

I kid you not...

Glad you took my advice though about the car washing - much more profitable in the short term!

What do you do for £400 a week? That's not to be sniffed at at your age (at our age, at your age, YOUNG MAN...) hehe

How about saving £80 a week for your new venture? I had to start gathering some money before I started up. Once I had a bit of cash together it was much easier to borrow money.

Anyway, you had a virtually free to start business model. I stand by my disappointment in you. You COULD make us all change our minds. I dunno, giving up cos you have no time rolleyes I might not have much time, but I've got a nice-ish house, a few nice cars and don't worry where my next meal is coming from.

Break those chains man!

Sorry to bring this thread up again but it has been interesting.

I feel that because products such as keyrings carry such a little amount of interest in peoples lives, they are very good items to you use to gain experience.

Like yourself, I am young guy who has just left school. I have simply brought a simple, insignificant product in a relatively large amount and sell it.

I done it with a friend and we sell the product in batches of 100. As it stands today, we have sold around 1,200 units in batches of 100 and have 3 stores who we currently supply for stock and we have a few other Companies interested.

Even though we are talking Business on such a pathetic level, we have learnt quite a lot from our dealings with proper Companies. We also are on course to make a healthy profit.

£400.00 a week sounds like an incredible amount of money for you to be earning at 17!?

You need to find more time! smile

Good luck with everything,

Baxter.

It was only a pansy 3 week contract, was pushed into a different department. Earning only £250, does the job though. Pays for the basics :P
