Evening all,

We are currently looking to rent the first floor of a modern barn conversion with open plan office space. I posted on PH a few days ago to get some general advice but this post is in the hope someone may know someone with available space or seen what we are after. We are scouring estate agents but nothing has come up yet, only stuff that’s too big.

We need about 350-500 sqr foot but fairly flexible, nice looking from the outside with some parking. We don’t mind tidying up the interior if needed, including cabling and decorating etc.

It needs to be in the Essex area, preferably somewhere between Braintree and Sudbury – again, fairly flexible so anywhere within that sort of area.

So just on the off chance really but if anyone knows of anywhere available please give me a shout.

Has it GOT to be a barn conversion?

That's pretty narrowing on your criteria, plus the conversions that I've seen (which is about 3) don't tend to have a lot of roof space, which makes headroom pretty limited

Hasn’t “got” to be a barn – but I really like the style, much nicer than a "box" office. I want somewhere nice to go to every day.

I visited a client who had pretty much what I am after – it was the first floor of a barn, plenty of headroom too (I am 6’2) and a really nice stylish space.

You could try Gt Bardfield business centre. I use to work there. It is a small cluster of converted outbuildings, into stylish modern offices, in a beautiful location with plenty of parking. When i left there around September last year a number of units were available for let. I'm not sure who lets the units, but this is a link to one of the main businesses there, they may be able to give you the number of someone who manages the site. www.high-barn.com/index.htm
Hope this helps.
