Anyone have experience using Spring Global Mail?

They've approached us with a view to taking our low value international packets, currently sent with Royal Mail.

Pricing is pretty competitive on their sorted packets but would be interested to hear of existing clients' experiences. Particularly their transit times given the need to travel via the Netherlands.

What sort of volumes are we talking and what size/weights?

International is only around 7k parcels a year, 80% September to Christmas.

Parcels average under a kilo and around 3kg by volume.

International couriers charge based on weight or a "weight value" based on the volume, whichever is greater. So for the company I work for, sending our lightweight products we tend to be charged on our volumetric weight.

For the majority it's cm3/5000 to give the volumetric weight in kg.

But not all couriers quote in the same way, so what are the usual dimensions of your 1kg parcel?

Mr O, two most common boxes are: 34*24*13cm and 34*32*13cm, split around 70/30 respectively and both under a kilo.

Service is pretty good and they and you will have more control and visibility then RM. I believe they route via Post NL, who are one of the better postal authorities out there.
