Im after small amount of profit just for a starter as I'm 17, so I was wondering whether or not the keyring business is worth it these days. I was going to first see how it went by buying 5 keyrings for £1.87 then sell one for 95p with a picture. But looking on ebay their doesnt seem to be alot of people wanting to buy them these days. Any opinions?

Thanks

Brad

Cheers Ladsthumbup Im buying 5 keyrings with a bottle opener at the bottom of them. Might keep one for myselfhehe I was thinking of the lines of maybe selling them at my school. And I might base it on requests like football teams or something like that.
Iv seen those keyrings with the pound attached, so many optionsrolleyes

I would also bet that you can get 5 keyrings for free if you called a keyring manufacturer and asked for a selection of samples. That way you can also ask them about prices for larger amounts if your idea takes off cool
The cheapest I could find was £1.70 plus 80p for postage for 5, do you think thats reasonable?

http://www.buyking.co.uk/promotional-products/keyrings.php?ppcc=KR013&gclid=CPvt-sLh8pkCFYZM5Qodo0qbSA - cheap ETA you'll have to cut n paste that address for some reason, but they are 26p each.

http://www.rocketbadge.co.uk/default.html - cool bespoke stuff.

to get the rate of 26p you will need to buy 5000!
hehe theres no way that Il shift 5000 keyrings and theres no way that Il spend over £100 for a bulk. Thanks anyway. They will no doubt laugh there heads of when they see Im after only 5.

We're not laughing our heads off are we? smile

Your first mission is to see if you can buy these keyrings you've found and sell them for a profit. Go on, get on with it...! biggrin
Ok Iv just bought 5 keyrings from ebay for £2.50 that includes p+p. Seems a bit too much and Il will only get less than £2.50 profit hopefully. Doesnt seem worth it.

That's 100% markup and £2.50 for 10 mins work.
If it works, maybe spend the £5 and get some more.

Worst scenario is £5 down
Best scenario is £10 in your pocket smile
I suppose so. Maybe having it as a specialised keyring I could bump it up to £1.20 as the cutomer can request a picture of choiceidea if I sold the 5 it would be £6 and the Net profit would be £3.50.

Sell a few and get used to making them, then let me know what price you can do 500 for. I'll even help you find a supplier.

OP - well done to you too, good on you for having some get up and go and also for having the guts to ask for advice. I wish I'd had the balls to do the same at your age! How are you getting on with it all?
You could still try it. Just for a laugh maybe. My cousin used to buy clothes from TK Maxx and then sell them on the amercian ebay site. Life all about taking risks I guessrolleyes

Forgot to ask, is it illegal for me to post notices through peoples letter box. Do I have to ask the council?

Try the facebook idea - you have nothing to lose do you!!!
Yeah I will try that. I'am just searching manufacturers at the moment. I'v started it on my msn, alot of people are sending me pictures they want. 6 people are buying one and 2 people are wanting to buy two. So business is pritty good, never expected it to go so fast, my cousin who lives down in plymouth has given me some tips, as he used do the same thing. Had some trouble with photos people are sending me, when I either reduce or increase them to size the go all pixelated. frown Iv nicked my mums HP photo printer so hopefully I can just upload them onto the printer which has loads of settings of sizes and layoutshehe

Another thing you could do is a bit of research into girls names then print a nice tag with the name and some ponsy words about the meaning of the name - girls love that kind of thing and would pay £1 at least to have it in a keyring.

If you're feeling really cheeky, you could go into Clintons with a camera phone, take pictures of such items and use very similar text.
Great idea, cheers

Im just thinkng if Makro or Costco sells batches of keyringsscratchchin
