I stripped mine down when mine went through water damage, don't remember it being worse than any other phone to do, ended up putting it back together and paid £100 for supply & fit from a local phone place (in Stoke) and they lent me a Nokia for the day so didn't seem worth trying to do it myself.
You stripped it down or you replaced the screen? IIRC the screen replacement isn't that easy (need a hairdryer to loosen the glue).I had it done by a shop.
I've got a glitch on my SII this morning.
At the very top of the screen are a series of very small numbers, P: dX, dY, etc, which change when I move my finger around the screen, and there is a thin trace where my finger has been, and a pair of cross hairs and a target where my finger is.
I'm guessing it's an app that has updated automatically?
Tried turning it off and back on again, removing the battery etc. but the problem remains.
Any ideas?

Sounds like some sort of calibration/settings tool that tracks touch movement. Probably a rogue app, can you look in your task manager which apps are open, close them 1 by 1 to find the culprit .At the very top of the screen are a series of very small numbers, P: dX, dY, etc, which change when I move my finger around the screen, and there is a thin trace where my finger has been, and a pair of cross hairs and a target where my finger is.

That sounds more like an option in the developers options to me.
System Settings > Developer Options > Input > Show Touches + Show Pointer location (make sure both are unticked).
HTH.
Brilliant! Thanks. That fixed it. No idea how it came to be on though!System Settings > Developer Options > Input > Show Touches + Show Pointer location (make sure both are unticked).

I upgraded my sim-free GS2 to JB a couple of weeks ago. It's really nice but my battery life has been all over the place since the update. It doesn't get a huge amount of use so I usually charge it every other night. Since upgrading I've been having to charge every night but I can't work out what's doing it.
After a bit of Googling it seems it's worth resetting the battery after a major update so I tried it last night:
- drain battery to dead
- recharge then as soon as it hits 100%, take the battery out for a few minutes
- put battery back in and use as normal
So far I'm at 70% after 11 hours.
Google Maps seems to be using a lot of battery (9%), which is odd considering I haven't used it at all.
If I can resolve the battery issue, JB is lovely...

I upgraded OTA to version 4.1.2. Google Maps is definitely doing something - 10% of useage and I haven't launched it. It had the "Report from this device" setting enabled so I've switched that off to see if that makes any difference.
I wonder if it's worth rolling back and doing the update with Kies so might try that at the weekend. I managed to make the phone last from Thursday morning until Monday morning at Le Mans last year with disciplined use of flight mode, shutting down regularly and and disabling all the frills I could find. It's not looking likely I'll be able to do the same this year!

Yeah it's definitely a smoother experience but the changes are fairly subtle. Did you do it through Kies or OTA?
I might grab one of those bigger batteries. I'm not often away from a power source so it's not a massive problem for me but there are going to be times when I'll lament not having one.
