If those options aren't there, try doing a search on your phone (press the search widget or slide the home button up) and search for "Apex", and run it from there, should give you the options also.

Good luck.

i seem to be having similar problems with charging. hoping its just a one off, will see what happens next time it needs a charge
Mine has done similar twice. Plug it in, it goes straight to 100% and then you unplug it and it goes back down. A restart has always fixed it for me. I've had the phone about 3 months now and that's been the only real issue.

Galaxy s4 or HTC one are the two best but if you don't need extra storage potential or 4g there is basically nowt in it.

Both are too expensive for me unfortunately, I'm currently paying £16 odd a month but willing to stretch to the £20.50 that the S3 will cost, the Nexus will work out a few quid a month cheaper over 2 years.
In which case there's nothing to touch the Nexus 4 for the money.

Personally, I'd rather have the Nexus 4 than the S4 or One, unless it was the google edition of those phones, which aren't out yet.

Quick scan, thought there might be a thread for these...

So, my trusty Desire HD may have accidnetally had some water fall into it.
So I have 3 options:
No, you have 5 options:-

4. Sony Xperia Z - waterproof
5. Samsung Galaxy S4 Active - waterproof

I can proudly say in the 11 years of owning a mobile, up until this point I have never lost/smashed/filled a phone with liquid previous to 'watergate'. Closest I've come is dropping a clutch out of the loft onto a work laptop. But that was mostly fine afterwards.
hehe

I had a red wine / expensive laptop interface last year so I can't talk.

For those not in the know, the 4 and 5 bits aren't just "mark.4 and mark.5" - they actually refer to the size of the screen (in inches). That's why the tablet is a Nexus 7. (7" display).

If you don't fancy a 5" phone, buy the N4.

C
That's correct for the Nexus 7, but not for the Nexus 4, which just happens to be the 4th Nexus phone.

I've tried MIUI as well, several times. Always end up going back due to niggles or performance issues.

You can make a stock one look pretty much the same in most instances without resorting to a custom ROM. Beside, the OCD part of me would get pissed off at having something that looked like an iPhone on the homescreen and inbuilt apps, but then all of the rest of Android apps using the Holo theme that is used on ICS / JB, giving an inconsistent experience, but that's just me.

Oh and I'd take battery life claims from XDA with enough salt to rust 100 MX5s.

I've had to clear data of several apps after the update. Also Google now was a bit screwey. Since then no issues.

Just remembered also had to delete my Google account on the phone and re-add it as it wouldn't download from the play store.

Personally, I like having everything on the home screen vs a home screen & separate app drawer (is there a launcher that does this?). MetOffice app aside, I might stick with this for a while, until the need for 4.3 becomes too much to bear tongue out

This is a bit of a long shot, but does anyone know if it's possible to stop the album art scrolling around whilst a song is playing in the Play Music app? It annoys me so much!
Home button? Power button? hehe
biggrin

Don't think its possible. Just don't look at it tongue out

TBH I'm happy if it manages to get my songs in the correct order - sometimes it can't seem to manage it (this is stuff I uploaded to their cloud service).

What's this name suggestion in the dialer that you speak of, I've not noticed any difference in mine?

thumbup Brilliant, cheers! I'd never read about this anywhere else.

FINALLY Android has T9 style dialling out of the box (it's took them long enough)... although you would think they would have enabled it by default.

I thought that was what you meant to be fair biggrin

Otherwise I'm unsure of a full screen mode, do you have any screenshots to show me what you mean?

Your experience with MIUI sounds just like mine, nice looking, but demanding on the hardware and ultimately buggy. Shame really.

To be fair, most aftermarket ROMs suffer from their fair share of issues.

4.3 has been OK to me so far, after some initial teething troubles.

So, my £15 official bumper cracked at the bottom where the charger goes. Probably due to me pushing it hard onto my crap dock all the time. Piece of st.

I ordered a Diztronic case from Ebay and it's much better. Feels lighter than the bumper even though it covers the rear of the phone too, and the phone feels better in the hand.

But now it won't fit properly in my piece of crap car dock.

banghead

Google/LG are missing a trick in not producing a decent range of official accessories.
Must admit, the Google bumper looks nice, but is a useless POS. Doesn't really protect the phone, and mine constantly pops off in one or more of the corners when in my pocket.

Might have a look into that case you've bought, or if anyone has any other suggestions. I'd like something that looks nice as the phone itself looks nice and I'd rather keep it looking nice, so no cheap TPU cases (had one, turned green!).

Isn't that a feature? hehe What colour did you get? I got a white one which is now some sort of grey/black/blue/Millennium Falcon white. I'd imagine a black one or something darker in colour would fare better?
Mine was a sort of transparent one, but yeah a black one would be better, I'd just kind of like something that looked like it had some class... although I'll probably just put up with the bumper till it dies.
