Just checked Apple store Japan (as I'm going there in April) http://www.apple.com/jp/ipad/compare/
58,800Y for the 64Gb wifi = £460
here £560 = 71,600Y
Guess I'll be buying mine over there then and saving £100 !

I have an ipad2 and I am more than happy with it, you just can't keep up with technology these days, even the latest smartphones are being replaced with newer models/operating systems after just a few months, I don't think the changes are enough to make me sell my iPad and buy the new one just for a bit better screen resolution, how much better can it be I am still blown away with the quality of the ipad2

Will the 4G model ever work fully in the UK? Aside from the UK commercial rollout on 4G being at least a year away (by which time there'll probably an iPad 4), aren't UK carriers planning to use a different frequency to the Americans?
Something like the Americans are using 700Mhz where we're planning to use 900 and 1800Mhz mainly with 800Mhz to be auctioned off for 4G once the Digital Switchover is complete. I know HSDPA should it give a speed boost over the iPad 2 but even so they'll have to be careful calling it "4G" here.
Being a worldwide device, I wouldn't worry about frequencies, it'll be designed with them all, but locked to regional carrier specific ones unless bought from the Apple Store.Something like the Americans are using 700Mhz where we're planning to use 900 and 1800Mhz mainly with 800Mhz to be auctioned off for 4G once the Digital Switchover is complete. As for 4G, Orange rolling out this summer - give Google a quick check to see if I've remembered correctly.

Just tried to order a 64 4g but got the oops error, will try again tomorrow
Happy with my fatPad, but just tried to order the new aTV with the same result - big "Oops".Updated the old aTV2 to new interface - not sure about the new interface - transitions are almost too quick.

So, basically they ripped off the HP Touchpads case?
Hardly, since the HP one isn't magnetic attached to the side only, not to mention was it available in March of 2011?
Presuming not, judging by the mention of "summer" in the advert there, then definitely not.
But irrespectively, the original iPad had a full cover, just like the HP one, which some designs catered for folding the screen part back to make it sit at an angle.
That was March/April 2010 - so maybe HP copied what Apple (and others) had done for their 'designed for iPad' product.

Shame there is no SD card reader slot - I'm sure that would make it so much more useful - then again, maybe not - you have to store multi-gigabytes of pics somewhere and the ipad probably isn't the place...unless they are 'clouded' I suppose.
All you have to do is buy the overpriced SD card adapter cable...Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
