Not long left for this now.

I hope it's good and doesn't disappoint. I've been saving my dinner money up for this stupid phone.

My HTC one x is faulty and been waiting for this for ages. Problem is due on 31st and I fly out to Mexico on the morning of the 31st. I'll come back to a waiting list I suspect.

A few disappointments with the camera, was hoping they would use lg's unit with IS but looking like the Sony 8mp unit. The shots I've see so look good though from the sony unit.

Is it just me that thinks the design of the camera is ruining the overall looks of the phone?

$80 for wireless in the hotel I dont think do. Im sure they IP track to so would have to ask somebody to do it for me and I'd rather not tbh. I'm going to wait for reviews, I'm due an upgrade anyway so if its crap I'll go that way, of good I'll giffgaff it and wait it out.

I can't speak for anyone else on here but looks rate somewhere around smell on my "why I want a phone" criteria.

I had been really keen on the Nexus 5, however these delays have made me look at whether I need this phone.

In reality the only thing this offers for me is Android 4.4 - my HTC One XL is pretty well specced for an old phone! Progress really seems to have slowed...

For me, the principal things are: 2GB RAM, much much better screen than current one, bigger battery, much faster CPU, much faster video, LTE support.

There are other things I want to play with (Miracast for example) but I don't regard that as really important.

(I'm going to be trading up from an HTC Sensation, by the way -- as long as the N5 specs are what I expect)

The only thing I'm interested in. But I imagine the bigger screen, CPU and additional RAM is going to negate any gains...

I never said it was a priority. It was a question about the looks of the phone. Whether or not the looks are factored into your purchase of a phone is irrelevant, the phone is still a physical object which therefore has and appearance which can be discussed.

I guess you mean the grey circle where the camera lens is? I think it looks okay really. I prefer the back to the new Nexus as it looks a bit more durable than the Nexus 4, which mine is all cracked up...

Yeah the soft touch is the same as on the sides of the 4, and it's a great idea, much better than the back on my 4, but it really does ruin the look imo.

Wouldn't stop me getting one though. My big deciding factor at the minute is the battery so we shall see how it goes.

Saying "I don't care about the looks of the phone" is discussing it.

Potato.

Technically you're not discussing the design, you're discussing how the design impacts your thoughts/opinion of the device.

Different concept entirely.

When this bloody thing finally is released, is it best to snap one up straight away in case they sell out or could the early production models suffer from teething troubles?

What were the experiences of Nexus 4 owners who bought them early?

There will be no difference with the first one off the production line and the last one.

The only issue could be bugs in the Android OS, but that will be sorted very quickly.
