I've had enough now.
I have work emails and a business website, who should I go with? Main problem we're having with R1 is emails bouncing back so need this stopping as our business is reliant on sending and receiving emails.
TsoHost (or Vidahost) - same group I have work emails and a business website, who should I go with? Main problem we're having with R1 is emails bouncing back so need this stopping as our business is reliant on sending and receiving emails.
Nethosted - not used them myself, but some customers have and they seem decent

I'd go 365 or Google Apps - nobody else even comes close IMO.I have work emails and a business website, who should I go with? Main problem we're having with R1 is emails bouncing back so need this stopping as our business is reliant on sending and receiving emails.
Web Hosts - depends how critical the site is. 34SP are cheap and decent as are Catalyst2.

Google or Microsoft aren't a panacea though if you want any kind of control of your data.
Agreed but they meet most regulatory requirements.I'm not going to suggest they're a panacea in privacy or control terms, that's the nature of hosted for you, but if your business is "reliant" on email they are the two options that you won't go wrong with IMO.
We're with vidahost and have been for a fair number of years.
Great customer support as always, and I believe they've taken on a lot of people recently. Normally support tickets are answered within 30 mins.
When I had the choice of R1 or Vidahost I chose Vidahost as they were cheaper - no complaints from me whatsoever.

It can happen to anyone. Its not uncoomon for an ISP to be on one blacklist or another.Register1 some how is on the banned black list with google/gmail.

Have already had one pissed off customer that came back to me asking why my webstore had authorised her transaction via the worldpay gateway, only for magento store to send out a rejection transaction and lose the Order in store.
Magento are aware of the problem and have been for a few months, but are only fixing those customers who complain and notice it, turn around is 48 hours... I have quite a few £k in transactions going through tomorrow and need both of these like a hole in the head.

Response from R1 was to upgrade to a £500+ a year server for email use to fix it...
In addition they are saying they are not blocked and dont know what Gmail are talking about (despite been given the email that bounced stating part of R1 was blocked)...
Started yesterday....
Not happy with their response so far

This is starting to happen quite often I'm afraid, two of my customer's servers have had trouble sending outbound mail over the last couple of weeks.
There's not a lot they can do once one of these blacklisters has their name. Its like your email address ending up on one of these spam-me data bases - how do you get off it?
If you respond with 'unsuscribe' they add you to a shed load more
ETA
Have you checked your IPaddress here

http://multirbl.valli.org/ checks loads of blocklists, it's the one Reg1 use to check...
