Been there never again.

EE British call centres who answer very quickly and know exactly how to speak English.
3G diabolical customer service & they constantly try to upsell. Try getting through and when you do they are inept one even once asked me about EastEnders and dirty den..... (While some screen was loading up)

Personally I want to give jobs to British people in our country not some call centre other siege of the world where you literally struggle to understand them and more often than not they don't have a clue what you are asking.

(Note I've done EE/3G/O2/Vodaphone/TMobile - not done orange. Without question in near on 20years EE is by far the best. )
I've not had huge issues with Three, and all I ever see is friends complaining about EE being awful for customer service.

Besides, I pay £15 a month for unlimited 4G with unlimited tethering, and it's free to use abroad.

I roamed Balarics Bulgaria France Germany Republic of Ireland this year with EE in all those locations I had no coverage issues. I paid up for the calls and texts upfront £5pcm each so easy to turn on and off when you go on hols. I didn't use Data outside of wireless as these were holidays not business trips.

That said every other carrier I've used I've not had any issue overseas

It don't think contract is cheaper though, it is? Because you can get good cashback deals on SIM only.

This is what I've now decided to do:

iPhone 6S 128GB outright: £699
EE SIM only (one year contract) - Unlimited Calls & Texts + 4GB Data: £20.99 per month - £144 Cashback = £8.99 / month.
Lets assume you can get an identical SIM only deal in year two. (Which isn't an unreasonable assumption)

Total cost = £699 + (£8.99 x 24) = £914.76

Can anyone find a contract deal that's within £250 of that deal over 2 years?
Where do you get that cashback deal from?

If you search moneysupermarket you can find that deal.
I've been with orange/EE for years now, buying the phones via a contract, but this deal has made me consider buying the phone outright. Can I ask anybody on a similar cashback deal how they find it? I know it takes 3 months for the money to arrive. Has it proved reliable?
Also, is it possible to keep your number (as I wouldn't be moving provider, I assume it's possible?)

Sorry for the stupid obvious questions!

Exactly my situation, I've been with Orange since the last century!

That is the $64,000 question. If not, the deal's off.

If they say you can't... You should still be able to transfer your number to a throwaway PAYG SIM card on a different network, them transfer the number back to your current network/ new contract.

Bit of faffing about, but might be worth it to keep your current number and get a decent deal.

This a lot of effort for £144 that you sit worrying will it will not not actually materialise.

Though if your donating that to charity then fair enough.

I'm on the 5, I was going to try pushing through to the 7, but I've battered my phone so badly (5 screens in 2 months!) its starting to not let me type properly, so this one it is. At least I guess I'll notice a difference, will be miffed if the 7 is the 'big jump' phone though....

now that the photos are taking up more and more room, it would be nice to be able to select the resolution of photos.
Get the Google Photos app and upload all your photos to their free cloud storage, then you can remove them from the device but easily view them in the app.

I'm still using my 5 and had it replaced by Apple earlier in the year .. really in two minds about the 6s, might also wait for the 7.
5s/6/6s feature additions are nice but none are really life-changing, aside for maybe touch ID and Apple Pay (which won't work with the bank I use ...)

The website says: "To transfer your number to a new contract which is provided by your current provider, you will need to call us on: 0345 470 4000 and a member of our friendly customer service team will assist you."

So I assume it's not an issue.

not talking about coverage, talking about cost. Voda £2 a day to access your home tariff from anywhere in europe. EE is about £5 for 100Mb of data that only lasts 24hrs, and plus that you have to keep pissing about buying it in chunks. Complete PITA and really expensive.

Admittedly not date but mine was £5for the month or as you say £2 for a day... Only someone on less than 3 days would choose the £2/day.

I didn't look that closely at it, so thanks for copying that. Seems to be a great way to save money (though is it a case of to good to be true lol)
