Has anyone tried to sync an exchange account yet?
I've got mine all set up ok but when I try to sync mail it just tries to sync for ages and doesn't pull anything down.

The calender is syncing fine. I've tried setting it to only sync mail from 1 day ago and download the whole message rather than limit it to 5kb but its still not doing anything. This is over wifi and 3G

I just wish Google Nav was available in the UK.
I've got a modified version of Google Maps called Brut's Google Maps and it has an option for navigation in that. I haven't tried it yet so it may not be functional but it might be worth a look for you to try or at least read up on.

Just a thought. When is Android 3.0 due? I have heard it is sometime mid summer. I may be wrong or have in fact read the magazine wrong. If that is the case, will 2.1 be upgradable easily to 3.0 or is it not possible?

Thanks for that.

Probably seems stupid to most, but I'll be giving these a wide berth until that is sorted out - I did so much work sorting out tags and album art on my MP3 collection on my PC that I have no motivation at all to sit and merge hundreds of MP3s so they work properly on this.

My old Sony MP3 player did this as well - most annoying. It seems hardly anything plays MP3s gaplessly frown
Gapless playback is a bummer, very irritating. A lot of people don't see why this is an issue; however, I can't see why they can't see that this is an issue for some - it's a simple, valid request. The iPhone does it, I'm surprised there isn't an app on the Android Market for it already.
The kiler music app for Android, "Diggin" has turned out to be a massive piece of vaporware. It will be released about the same time as Duke Nukem Forever. Last time I checked they were having legal issues over the album art retrieval feature...

I can't seem to sync anything on my desire. My pc is windows 7, 64 bit. That seems to be the problem.

Wasted 2 hours doing this already.

Just had a quick look at the online manual and it says the sync software is on the sd card that's supplied. It says its compatible with XP, Vista and W7.

I hope it works because mines due tomorrow and I'm W7 64 bit too.

I'm still not convinced it's worth ditching my G2 for.

Has anyone got an alternative to the awful headphones they provide? I have a set of Sony in-ear ones which are fantastic but they are on a very short lead and are meant to be used with some kind of adapter/extension. I can get a 3.5mm Jack extension on Ebay but wondering if anyone has used some kind of volume/track skip option on theirs yet?

Rob i found the standard iPhone ear plugs were excellent, volume control could be a little wider ranged, but this could go hand in hand with no EQ.

Got it working - a few tips.

It works as an external drive easily enough, so you can copy the installer file.

The installer tells you to close you anti-virus software when installing, however it will only work if you disable your firewall.

After the programme is installed, you need to reboot your pc before the sync will work, it doesn't tell you that.

Games are crap on the Android Market. One thing that would benefit from some developer assistance.

Still loving the phone, tis just an amazing bit of kit.

Thats to do with the fact that they are limited by the space availible on the phone, if they made a massive game with good graphics then you would have no space for any other apps. Once the next update comes along (which is rumoured to allow the saving of apps to the memory card) then as soon as the games can be made, we should see some nice ones pumped out pretty promptly.

Thanks for that, I was aware of the lack of space (512mb on the Desire would be eaten up quickly).

Any idea which release its looking to be on?

None at all, I think the next release is Android 2.1 isnt it? I would say that this would be the one its on but if I was brutally honest, Its all just maybe this and maybe that on the web at the moment. With the desire however, because it runs HTC software on top of Android, you will have to wait a little while AFTER the Android release to get it unless you wish to run just the Android operating system and do away with the HTC add-ons.
