I assume you mean this one that's not flexible enough? I think it's the only option at the moment

Yes. Ideally with that kind of strip I'd like to stick it to the underside of a cabinet and coil it but it's too stiff to do that. If all else fails I cut it into peices and solder links between the sections but that's alot of faff and might noit be very reliable. It's just to go under two 500mm wide cabinets either side of a hob. I put the controllers in place when the kitchen ws built but they hang there unused. https://www.philips-hue.com/en-gb/p/hue-white-and-...
A Hue version of this Ikea light would be ideal: https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/irsta-led-worktop-lig...
Apparently it can be connected to Hue but seems it's somewhat iffy, especially if the bridge isn't close - ours isn't. I'd prefer the Hue colour range.

Could you use something like this to bridge across between two pieces of lightstrip? Putting the lightstrip in aluminium channel with diffuser is also easy and neat. A Hue version of this Ikea light would be ideal: https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/irsta-led-worktop-lig...

It'd be short pieces as the cabinet is only 500mm wide. You can cut the strip and solder links in using thin wire, but it'd be a right faff to do a few of them.Edited by Sheepshanks on Wednesday 28th February 13:41

This is Hue's and very flexible. Had them for years so maybe discontinued? This is a spare strip that I put behind the TV and linked to a Hue Sync Box.......
It's getting it flat which is tricky - like this:Ideally it would curve nicely so could just be coiled (while flat to the underside of the cabinet) but it's too stiff for that.

From what I remember, they came in the pack of the light strip kit anyway when I bought one. Or maybe it was in the extension pack.
I'm not explaining myself very well - although the back of the TV is like it, but I have a smaller space - I just measured it, the cabinets are 600 wide by 400 deep. There's one either side of the hob.
I can't find an ideal picture, but basically I'd like to make an arrangement something like the shape below, and stick it to the base of the cabinet:

Hmmmm yes I think you’ll struggle with those hue strips then I can't find an ideal picture, but basically I'd like to make an arrangement something like the shape below, and stick it to the base of the cabinet:

A flattened version, really. That's 36mm high - to go under a cabinet unobtrusively it'd need to be maybe 10mm. The Ikea panel I linked to earlier is 8mm.Anyone had any recent experience with Hue Perifo ceiling rails.
Just done an install which I really like but they came with a baffling range of parts to attach them to the ceiling.
The general approach is screw through pre drilled hole in rail with washer ( wider than hole ) to pull the rail against the ceiling.
0.5m rail ; small round washer just barely big enough to sit across the screw hole in the rail. Worked ok but a bit half c@ck.
1m rail; square washer that slides into a track on the rail and is perfect for the job. Screw goes through and pulls the rail against the ceiling. Tidy; see pic
1.5m rail; same small round washer as 0.5m rail but larger hole in the rail means the washer is too small and simple goes through the hole so unable to attach to ceiling.
Trying to resolve with Hue support

So I want the colour spotlights for our bathroom, may be a noob question, but for normal routines I’d just like a bright white, and for a relaxing shower/bath I’d like to create a nice colour ambience.
Is there a way I can have both scenes programmed so that I don’t need to keep faffing about changing the colour settings on the app.
Will become very tedious if im in a hurry and having to mess about with the lights
And can you put the gu10’s in a bathroom

Yes GU10's are fine the only possible issue is the lamp holder as regards fire/heat regs - but rarely an issue these days. Is there a way I can have both scenes programmed so that I don’t need to keep faffing about changing the colour settings on the app.

Mine are on one of these switches (also I use proximity sensor) tap the 'Hue' button on the demo and it will scroll through 3 preset scenes..............
