bloody hell! i searched and searched microsofts site, but couldnt find a thing.
It looks like thats the answer i'm looking for. Ok i'm gonna have to try it and if not i'll try some of the other reply's, many thanks to all for responding i appreciate the effort
theres nothing as fustrating as a computer and a lack of knowledge combinedirked



well a big thankyou especially to greg i removed i stick of ram and everything loaded and started up fine (crashed again when i put the ram back but i'll download the patches as soon as i've transfered everything over)cloud9

Well I want to thank those that posted the info about the 2 GB rule for new setup computer for vista!! I had the same problem brand new system everything.. Installed my 4gb DDR2 800 Mhz and vista went to install but when it got to the point to reboot and start the install it just kept rebooting... I took out one 2gb stick did the install again 64bit of course and all went fine... Thanks...

I will also say that I did make one other mistake before this and it was forgetting to format the hard drive so the OS would see it!@! The MOBO could see it fine .. but Vista could not see it so would not install at first saying there was not enough memory!!

Forgot one thing.. after vista installed all updated I installed the other stick of Ram.. Now I am blazing at 4GB.... Thanks
