If blocked open the uBlock origin dashboard (options), purge all caches and update. Close and restart Chrome.

VPN to Argentina, pay for Premium, less than a quid a month, no ads, downloadable vids, play music in background etc etc
I'll stick with Brave. I don't download vids and would rather not line their pockets even if it's for a lesser sum than the UK price.

How about no?

That's cool. I'd rather pay a quid than have the hassle - or even the chance - of YT being blocked. But then I/we watch a few hours of YT every day.

Google already makes enough money from selling my browser data, email content and Drive file content to their advertisers and "trusted third parties" so they can fk off.

Try this - skips ads, rather than blocks them:

Doesn't this mean you have to create a new account and have to curate everything from scratch again?

I think so, which is what puts me off doing it, plus I'm sure they know about that trick too and will no doubt clamp down in due course. I don't really wish to use my main account as I've heard of accounts being blocked.

To be honest I'm almost tempted to stump up as I'm quite a heavy user and at some point it'll feel like a part time job with this cat and mouse business.

If it was 7.99 then I would pay for it but 11.99 is a bit rich seeing as they're only a hosting platform and don't create any content themselves.

Agreed, I would have already bought it by now if it were a tenner or less. Still, it's less than the TV license and yet I probably watch more on it than TV these days, I also sometimes listen to YTM for several hours a day. So I would get some value out of it (btw it's gone up to £12.99).

Nope, same everything...just without the ads and the handy ability to easily download videos to watch where a connection may be iffy.
I have a family membership, so I just invite them to join using their own accounts. It's seamless.
It's £1.96 I think, or there abouts.
I don't understand why you'd faff about with adblockers when premium is virtually free...but that's just me.

I'm not sure what the point is of all these posts from the Premium suckers who keep flooding in to the thread to tell us they have a Premium sub and so should you because "it's virtually free". Do they want a pat on the head or something? Surely they would take one look at the thread title, see that it doesn't apply to them and move on to other threads that interest them?

This thread is for people who don't want a Premium sub to discuss and share intel on the ever evolving work-arounds. If that's not you. move along.

TunnelBear is a free VPN for iOS.

2GB of free browsing per month doesn't get you far.

You don’t need the VPN once you have signed up.

To be fair I'd explore the nearly free option if it wasn't too complicated and I didn't have to re subscribe to everything, not sure how you go about it though. Maybe I'll look into it this weekend and see what the score is.

Though I do sometimes think if it's going to be a ballache going forward, for the 40p a day it costs, can I be bothered messing about. I suppose I've had a good run...

I was like you but found a how to guide and 5-10 minutes later have a premium account. For the very minimal cost a month it’s worth it than going through the hassle of constantly finding a work around. Especially if you’re watching a decent amount of YouTube.

I used a different account but re subscribed to allow the channels I followed on the other account and reckon it was about a week before I stopped seeing random content suggested that I didn’t want.
