Still waiting for the download, been sat at '17 minutes remaining' for the past hour. It is downloading... just very slowlyyyyy
Don't mean to sound smug, but mine's whizzing through. Try perhaps cancelling and starting again. Or perhaps not. Seems a bit slow though.

Up and running nicely here, multitasking making life easy, many app folders being put together to reduce apps down from 7 pages..

Add Bookmark link now includes print in safari, send to in photos also includes print.. Not sure where the "find my iPad" is yet, but I haven't gone searching to be honest..

Overall I'm rather happy with it..

Only having what is now known as a poverty spec 3GS, is there any way of me getting the Find my Phone for free? Apple's official line is that it is only on the 4, and iPad, despite me running the same 4.2 software.

You need a compatible printer for AirPrint. From what I've just read, there are about 10 on the Market....

I don't understand this, the iPhone 3GS is still a current device that they still sell and offer with the latest software, so why the hell isn't it getting the Find my iPhone? Absolute madness, they haven't thought this one through at all. The customers paying £189 for an iPod Touch 8GB get FMi free, but those paying £419 for a iPhone 3GS 8GB don't get it? Makes no sense at all. Someone needs to point this out to them.

Oh great. So I can use my trusty networkable HP printers with all my PCs and Macs in the house, but to use it with my iPhone 4 and iPad I need to buy a new printer? fk right off, no chance laugh

This is just like the way you can use the tethering built into the iPhone with any PC or Mac via Bluetooth or USB to get internet... but to get internet on the iPad you cannot use tethering and have to pay a £100 premium for a 3G version and subscribe to another Data contract. I refuse to give Apple anymore money, ever.

Downloaded the update for my iphone4, all going well so far, find my phone is very cool, already had a play sending a message to my phone and locking it remotely.

Haven't been able to try the air-printing, but have linked my phone to my Airport express and streamed tunes directly from it, pretty cool stuff, cut can't see a use for it given my laptop is in the same room as my hifi, but if you had several airport express' in different rooms I could see it being pretty funky.

In the 4.2 Betas, printing worked to network printers, but that functionality has been disabled for some unknown reason at the last minute for the official 4.2 release. it seems likely that some last minute hitch has simply temporarily delayed more widespread compatibility.

Also if you go to your photo library, choose an image and tap the icon bottom right, usually to email/MMS/assign as wallpaper you now get the option to print.

I don't get why Apple have done this, unless there's some deal and HP are giving them a cut of the money from the printer sales? Seems totally pointless and its just the sort of thing they deliberately do to be annoying. Next year we will presumably get the iPhone 5 and iPad 2 which will remove the limitation and work with any printer by any manufacturer, but users of older devices won't get that laugh
