If you find out which profile Sony Connect is using when the headphones are plugged in then you can go into the app and edit the event. I think it is the 2nd step which allows you to change the app used. I have Play Music set to start automatically.
Yeah I did that. It opens spotify fine, but if you set it to play music it just seems to play from the inbuilt app.

I ended up with 2 music players running, and at first couldn't work out what crap was playing on spotify, then realised it was from the in built music app.

I was tempted with a Z3 to replace my S3 but having seen the number of issues regarding cracked backs or fronts, i'm starting to think its not for me. I want something a little more robust.

I have to say, the number of times I've dropped mine, sat down with it in my back pocket. I do take care of it, but I've not even scratched mine, where as my HTC One S fared much worse. I maybe just one of the lucky ones.

Just picked up a Z3 compact (for the amount I use it I couldn't realy justify the extra for the Z5 compact), is the case mate reckoned to be the best case? I've never bothered with a case before this phone, but the back is very slippery and it's already slid off arm rests, banisters, etc. onto the floor a few times...

Thinking of getting a Z5 compact to replace my HTC one m7. Fed up with the naff camera and the high specs, solid build and small size of the z5 compact really appeal! Shame the reviews are so mixed...

Has anyone switched from an HTC one and how have you found it? Is there a BlinkFeed alternative available, I think I'd miss it.

I have the same issue on my Z1C, not found a way round it yet.

Had mine for a year or so now with the Case-Mate cover. It has been dropped a few times with no issues - I also put a tempered glass cover on (paranoid? me..?). The phone is excellent and the Case-Mate allows you to use the magnetic charger without any faffing. It also stops the phone sliding around (as happens without a case)

I've had a Z5C for a few weeks; prior to todays update to the camera, it was pretty slow at starting up. Now its quite fast.

The camera is okay - its held back by Sonys post processing (which sucks) and the camera interface is quite sucky (I've come from a Lumia 1020, which has one of the best camera interfaces around by a fair margin).

Overall its a brilliant device - form factor is perfect, battery life is okay (it'll easily get through a day), its pretty rapid at everything it does.

Latest update trashed my battery life...
No idea why but it drains much quicker, barely lasts a day.

Ive done the let it discharge to nothing and charge up on the origonal charger thing which has improved it, but honestly the life is not what it was, im on 5.1.1, anyone else had this?

My Z2 doesn't seem any better or worse on battery on 5.1.1. I started off at 91% leaving the house this morning and it's on 27% now.

Yes if I press on the side of it. It's a common Z3 foible.

Its about the only sodding thing that still works on my Z3

Such a shame, its gone from a very impressive phone to quite possible the worst phone I have owned in recent times, I won't be buying Sony again in a hurry

I've got an RMA booked in now. It's the only problem I've had with it so far. From what I've heard Sony seem a little hit and miss with their QC.

Disapointing... mine has been doing fine. the only thing is that the little flap that covers the charger has fell off!
Annoying!

My full fat Z3 has been excellent, got it on release day, it's been pretty abused being my work phone, still everything works perfectly.

It's been that good I've gone for a Z5 Premium as my personal phone. Quite a big handset but the screen is stunning, especially viewing 4K content.

They don't look too hard to replace if you can source one, if you can't find the bits on ebay then witrigs.com seem to have them.

Mines been OK, was expecting cracked glass and all sorts of problems. On it's 3rd bumper case though!

Has anybody had any success with dealing with Sony warranty/repairs department?

Firstly the headphone socket became defective, so I opened an RMA. In the week or so that it took me to sort out my old phone so I could send off the Z3C, the screen cracked whilst it was sat on my desk charging. So I cancelled the original RMA and created another stating the both the headphone socket was defective and the screen cracked whilst charging.

I've just had a reply back from Sony saying that their engineers have inspected the phone, found a slight chip in the corner of the screen which is sign of an impact and that is why the screen cracked. They say due to this I either have to pay over £100 to fix the phone, over £20 to have the phone sent back unfixed or they'll recycle the phone for free.

I phoned Sony this morning arguing that the phone had definitely not cracked due to it being dropped but my protests fell on deaf ears. I said fine, can you fix the headphone socket and send the phone back free of charge. They say they cannot fix the anything on the phone until the out-of-warranty defects have been fixed first because they deem the phone warrantyless because it has been damaged.

So I'm now in a position where I cannot even get the phone back without paying Sony to not fix the damn thing! I have insurance that would have fixed the phone without quibble but thought it would be better being repaired by Sony, especially given that none of the damage has been caused by me!!

I've no direct experience but was looking into this as well as the battery on my Z1C needs replacing. There were a few stories as you describe which put me right off. Google them and you see what people have done to get their phones back and get them fixed, I'm looking to replace my Z1C with an iPhone SE in the next couple of weeks as I don't want to send the phone to them to replace the battery!
