Is it possible to use the satnav when you are abroad without getting charged loads for data usage?
The built in Google Nav will require a data connection, but I don't think the data consumption is horrific. If you find even the smallest overseas data consumption unpalatable, then there are various other options you can download from the Marketplace (am I the only person who loathes the name "Google Play"? WTF were they thinking?) such as Sygic which store maps locally on your phone, so don't require a data connection.
My 100% unlimited-anywhere-in-the-world data contract means I've not needed to use one yet (although I have one installed should I want to start a journey from somewhere with no mobile reception), but they are supposed to be pretty decent.

Where do you acquire one of them and how much are they?If you find even the smallest overseas data consumption unpalatable, then there are various other options you can download from the Marketplace (am I the only person who loathes the name "Google Play"? That's handy to know.
I generally use a TomTom in the car, so it doesn't bother me a lot, I'll mostly use it for on foot navigation if I need it.
I do find myself wondering if loading a feature in advance so that it's in the cache would work, I might try this I'm in an area with no signal again. I generally use a TomTom in the car, so it doesn't bother me a lot, I'll mostly use it for on foot navigation if I need it.

Idiot question - what is the "H" icon on the top right?
HSPDA connection me thinks.G: GPRS (crappy, should almost never appear tbh)
E: Edge (slightly less crappy)
3G: 3G (good)
H/H+: HSPDA (also dubbed "3.9G") My real-life experience with this is from 0.5 - 1Mbps, so pretty good actually.

Unless I'm on the wifi at home I get Edge most of the time, but often GPRS too. Luckily at work I get H.
I got H+ when I visited Wolverhampton last month, Speedtest showed it being over 3MB, that's twice as fast as my home broadband!

I just ran Speedtest on mine in the office in Central London - 4meg download speed & 980k upload speed. The fastest I've seen out of it was 8.3 meg download and 1.5 meg upload.

Quick question - my friend has an S3 and when he connects it to his XP laptop, it won't see the SD card, it'll see the phone though...
Anyone? It's possible it uses some sort of "relay", so that the "external SD" is just a folder in the phone you see on the screen...
Has anyone had any reliability problems with their s3 yet?
My pre-ordered blue s3 decided to do a good impression of a brick yesterday and had no signs of life at all so is on it's way to be repaired under warranty.
Bought a £20 payg handset from Asda to keep me going and it's like living in the stone age compared to the s3
