Samsung Galaxy S3
Discussion
Just installed Nova Launcher this afternoon as I fancied a stock look and much more customisability.
It's light years ahead of TouchWiz (which isn't itself awful) and I think the whole phone feels much snappier with it installed. I even bought the 'Prime' version to get a few extra features. You can customise pretty much anything you'd care to think of, but at the same time, it's quite easy to understand and get to grips with.
You can easily switch between launchers with Home Manager so it's worth a shot.

Quick question - my friend has an S3 and when he connects it to his XP laptop, it won't see the SD card, it'll see the phone though...
Anyone?james_tigerwoods said:

Anyone?I suspect the solution may be to install Kies on XP, but I can't do that, because the Kies installer keeps telling me I'm not connected to the internet.
This is particularly scary, as I'm having no problem posting on here, which must mean that all PHers are actually cyber-beings living in my laptop.

Has anyone had any reliability problems with their s3 yet?
My pre-ordered blue s3 decided to do a good impression of a brick yesterday and had no signs of life at all so is on it's way to be repaired under warranty.
Headphone socket doesn't work straight out of the box but I need the phone next week for a few bits, so I'll be sending it back on warranty in a couple of weeks. My pre-ordered blue s3 decided to do a good impression of a brick yesterday and had no signs of life at all so is on it's way to be repaired under warranty.
Oh, and one of the silver 'Samsung' letters on the back fell off. Minor irritation but they can sort that whilst it's away too.

Ok. Upgrade time from Sunday. Currently have an iPhone 4. However, I am extremely tempted by the S3.
I have a mac and use iTunes for my music. Is it a total pain to sync an android phone with a mac?
Really I want a phone that works as a phone, syncs with gmail, plays music and gives me excellent web access. Also, a maps function that works would be great
I don't know loads about technology but I do like innovation! Seems the S3 is the phone Apple are trying to catch and I'm just not sure the 5 is so different from my 4 really.

Looks like you'd just need something like this.I have a mac and use iTunes for my music. Is it a total pain to sync an android phone with a mac?

That's the PC version, but the description says there's a Mac version too.

I've just been through that exact thought process and ended up swapping my IP4 for an S3. I prefer the S3 for most things and couldn't see the point of the IP5 as it wasn't much different from my 4. The only area the IP really scores in is the feeling of quality which is vastly superior to the S3, but that doesn't concern me.I have a mac and use iTunes for my music. Thanks. The widget pack is called Minimalistic Text. Can be customised to your heart's content and is very useful for 'decluttering'. wiffmaster said:

Thanks!!Well I wanted to show an iPhone user that S3 advert today, and despite having full signal and HSPA+ I couldnt get it to buffer. Checked on speedtest and I was getting about 150kbps on it!? I've tried it in different locations and the fastest i've had is 900kbps download. Is that normal? Does the HSPA+ vary from place to place? Just to add insult to injury, my mate found the video on his iPhone and with the same provider (He's on Orange, I'm T-Mob), he played it with no lag. Didnt get to speedtest though.
Any idea why?

I've been with tmobike for the last 18months and will never use them again, the internet has been utter ste! Despite ringing them with my concerns they just told me to put my phone on 3g only which made no difference apart from no signal when I went into the country. Not much help I'm afraid!
