My first visit to this topic, I have had my M8 for nearly 2 years and I have been having issues lately since Marshmallow. Its slower and more unstable, I have had it a couple of time where it has crashed and wiped data and I have had to restore things like whatsapp from backup (which it automatically does ever night luckily) and sign into everything again. in fact it did this last night and wiped all my texts. When it does this all the apps installed required updating again, which is an issue because:

The system section on my phone is taking up 12.86Gb of my 16Gb - although now it wont let me do anything when it reaches 15.5. I have uninstalled the majority of my apps to save space, all my photos, videos, music has always been stored on my memory card and it constantly sits at 15.3Gb used. i effectively have a phone with 2.6gb storage before I put on a single app of my own.

I cannot use the SD card for apps as after I move them across I come to use them they have mysteriously disappeared, I go onto the play store and it only offers to let me install it again.

Its all getting quite frustrating, planning to do a factory reset, but I cannot see much changing, as if the OS takes that much space, it takes that much space.

Sorry its a long post, but it feels good to vent smile

Having had my HTC One M8 for 13 months, I too am annoyed by the marshmallow update that hit my phone about a month ago. I first noticed that SMS and Whatsapp notifications were changed from green to blue. I am fine with this but what is annoying is that the update has completely removed my short cuts for 3G, Bluetooth, WiFi and general/silent/vibrate modes. I cannot seem to find these widgets to "re-install" them and now rely on the pull down menu that I think is not as handy.

Did/does anyone else use these short cuts or do you all leave these features on full time?

Oh, and also, my alarm has become unreliable so I restart my phone every night before setting it.

Does the phone work better without the SD card in it? Just wondering if it's faulty....worth a try?

Mine was doing weird things following the Marshmallow update. I ended up biting the bullet and factory reset it. It's been perfect since.

That's a very good suggestion, Mrs Buzz's HTC one mini 2 had that happen, and it completely ground to a halt. Mines not that bad but I will bear it in mind. It's currently sat next to me backing up everything as I am just about to factory reset the sucker.
