Any reliable source on whether ICS is coming to SGS2 on O2? Can't find anything on O2 or Samsung websites.

Not too keen on doing anything 'non standard'.

It's been available as an update since March!

So why won't my phone find it when I check for updates?

(Or am I missing something really obvious?)

On Vodafone you had to update via the Samsung software Kies, it wasn't available as an over the air update.

Might be worth installing Kies on your computer and plugging the phone in, works well but I only use it for updates and the very occasional phone backup.

It's not an OTA update, you need to plug it into <shudders> Kies </shudders>

Other than the % battery life indicator has anyone found anything else the upgrade has given.
So far I've noticed the setting of an alarm has been simplified , or the repeat daily / weekly aspect has at least. The progress bar and a few other buttons are blue when touched.
Some of the menus have been given additional icons instead of just a list

Anyone noticed any more ?

You don't really notice anything as ICS is more background improvements and any front end improvements are completely steamrollered by Samsung's horrendous Touchwiz UI.

It'd help if Kies actually recognised my phone... frown

ETA;

After removing my SDCard and restartng Kies it now sometimes recognises it.

On trying to do the firmware update it tells me to disconnect all other devices even though the only other devices connected are my keyboard, mouse and speakers.

Ugh. frown

When I get a text message my locked screen seems to freeze. I used to have a red icon in the middle telling me I have a new message. Now I have a grey icon in a random spot which looks like the grey icon you get when you try to unlock the screen. Cant take a screen shot as its locked.

Its free on the android market. Have a look . Well worth having . All one word if you are searching - noled.

It places an icon on the locked screen if you have received a text or missed call and some other customisable notifications

My phone seems to be doing something today down to 15% battery since 6am... not even sure I'm on Jelly Bean yet either.

You're defiantly not on JellyBean. If you were you wouldn't be unsure as its something you'd have to manually flash after rooting your phone.

anyone had any microphone issues?

tonight when trying to call someone I can hear them ok but all they can hear from me is crackling.

I tried using on the wired headset and same problem,
tried using it in my car with my bluetooth car kit and the same thing,
have tried recording with camcorder and voice is recorded as I can hear myself when I play it back

did a factory reset and it's still the same

downloaded and installed the update a few days ago and it was working ok until tonight.

any ideas chaps?

FUBAR?

edited to add:- tried the sim card in my works blackberry yuck and still the same crackling and no voice (from the S2)

Read an article this week that Samsung are going to release Jelly Bean for the S2, but probably not until Q4 of this year, so by the time the networks have tweaked it (looking at you Vodafone) it'll probably be March of next year.

Just upgraded to ICS 4.0.4

Can't say that the difference from .3 is noticable.

Anyone know how to access the clipboard to look through it and remove items?

Cheers.
