Converting Vinyl to MP3
Discussion
Hi, has anyone had any experiance of ripping vinyl records (or any analog audio) to MP3 and if so what programs are best to do this?
Ideally the program would be able to recognise the breaks between the tracks and start a new song.(I know this is a bit of hit and miss at times cos of pauses in music etc)
I'm also posting this on Pie and Piston btw
Regards
Iain

I asked this question a while back, try;

Since then I have used 'RipEditBurn' with good results, you can download a (30 day trial) fully working from;

It works very well and is easy to use - for best results use (at least) a bit rate of 128kbits for MP3 files - sounds as good as CD in my car and (at 128kbit) can fit approx 10 or 11 times as much music to a CDR.

There's a free plugin for external audio in there somewhere. Haven't used it, but I use the main converter for ripping CDs and converting various files and have never had a problem.
