Calling all IT whizzes

this may come out as a grabled mess but hopefully it will make sense to someone. At work I am trying to develop a picture board game for my students, question of sport stylee. Is there anyway that this can be done in PowerPoint with boxes being removed at random to reveal a picture underneath once you are actually viewing the show?

I am assuming you want a picture with 12 or 16 squares covering it? If so, you would need to set up each 'covering' box as a separate animated object, at the click of each mouse one of the animated boxes would disappear and reveal the picture underneath. Probably a bit of a faff to set it up, but once you'd set up the template you could apply it to any picture underneath.

I'm out of the office at the moment, otherwise I'd offer to have a go at it for you.

I didn't think you could do the randomness with powerpoint. I don't use it too often, so may be wrong.

I agree, the order of the 'reveal' would have to be set up beforehand, but the lack of "randomness" would only be known by the quizmaster, to the audience it would appear random.

Sounds to me like "random" is a pre-requisite in the given "spec", i.e. a QoS style quiz. I'm guessing the students will select which panel to reveal next...

The easiest/quickest (but messy) way is to have a front page with the 1-16 boxes on.

Then 16 more pages with one of those boxes removed in order to show the question/picture underneath, with a click-to-enlarge photo/question option (which would be on another 16 pages).

Finally the answer page could be linked from the enlarged photo/question page on yet another 16 pages.

The final click would take you back to the front page.

As I said, messy...but simple and once the template is set up it would only take minutes to put the new questions/pictures/answers in each time you wanted to use it.

As powerpoint has a VB editior, you could write some kind of random routing using the RANDOMIZE function couldn't you?
