Hi all,

I'm changing some DNS settings for a domain ( moving from one host to another )

The new hosting company has given me these settings:

Dear Sir,
for your website you need to have 3 A records

( at symbol, asterix symbol and www)

@ A 1xx.1xx.1xx.100 (at)
  • A 1xx.1xx.1xx.100 (asterix)
www A 1xx.1xx.1xx.100 (www)

...
..
Previously there was no '@' (at) sign.

When I enter the '@' and click update I get an error.
Removing the '@' and clicking update causes no problems.

Q:Can I just remove the '@' but keep the 'A' and I.P. address next to it.

Cheers

Yah,

no idea what the @ is for, SOA or something maybe..

You need

A www.domain.com
A domain.com
A mail.domain.com (in whatever format they want MX)
MX domain.com to mail.domain.com

Should be about it really.

123-REG use @ for the blank domain A record

i.e. domain.com
