Big Podcast fan here, in particular Mark Kermode's film reviews. I've today got my hands on a copy of the first one and as I usually would I dragged it into iTunes and it imported fine.

Except it hasn't put it in the podcast section, its mixed in with the music. Ah, change the genre, try again. No joy. Have been having a fiddle for an hour now and I can't seem to get it in the right place. Its actually quite a minor thing, but any suggestions would be handy. I've actually received another podcast recently and that went into the right place with no hassles, using exactly the same process. I've checked the tags and they are identical to the one that is causing me problems now.

Any ideas good folk?

hello andy

not an expert by a long way, but - i don't think you can.

when you subscribe to a podcast feed, all the podcasts that the feed retrieves will be listed in the podcast section.

what you have done (i think) is simply drag an mp3 into itunes. the mp3 just happens to be a podcast but because it hasn't been retrieved as part of the rss podcast feed, it isn't listed as such.

hope this makes sense and / or helps.

I think in part you are correct, what that doesn't explain is why another old podcast, that appear to be identical in every way, went straight into the podcast section with no help from me a couple of weeks back.

I'm guessing, as you say, it must have something to do with the RSS gubbins.
