Can anyone help me with my internet connection and tell me whats wrong?

My internet always connects and is running though certain sites won't come up and other sites i.e. PH I can only get a limited service when I click on a topic sometimes I can read it other times everything but what I want to read.

Ebay is working fine, other sites won't even come up.

Two laptops running off a wireless router. Don't think its a router problem as the internet will always connect, ISP says it's not them! HELP!

DO you get the same problem on both laptops

Who is your ISP

Could be any one of a number of problems, possibly pointing to the wrong DNS (for example)

Could you give us some examples? For each one, I'd need the site name, the result of a ping to it (open a command prompt and type "ping <site>&quotwink and the output of "ipconfig -all".

PM me, not really for public broadcast.

Assuming you're using Windoze of course.

If it helps, I had a big issue to certain websites yesterday via BT. Left it for a couple of hours and its fine again now. But it could be something as simple as the various transit points to elsewhere from the ISP being a bit crap. Its ISP and location dependent, so try and see if there is some form of commonality involved - maybe regional.

Also, do make sure you have updated your Anti-virus software and do a full scan. Also, if you have any anti-spyware / anti-adware software installed, do the same with those. Do a full check as it is well known that some of them will 'adjust' your internet experience for their own benefit.

Finally, have you power cycled everything? Reboot the router, laptops and anything else just to make sure. I had an old Linksys router which had major issues doing anything through a web browser (but everything else worked fine) after a while. I replaced it and it was fine.

You could change to Opendns to see if it is a dns issue.
