Can anyone recommend a good broadband provider (or a good comparison site), as I fancy moving away from BT?

Be* or O2. Its the same service essentially, but needs an LLU enabled exchange.

Very happy with Sky so far. Very cheap if you are a subscriber (i.e. from £0 to £10) providing as above you are hooked up to an LLU exchange with Sky kit in it.

I'm in the sticks, and on O2.

Plusnet, quite inexpensive and all the staff are English, their tech staff are top notch and nothing is too much trouble.
The only slight downside I have found is that their speed is slightly down on the entanet resellers.

There's an ADSL ISP sticky above.

It tends to be the more you pay the better the service you receive. I was with Newnet for a few months until they upped their prices, but the level of service was fantastic

A&A are a good broadband provider. They are not cheap nor do they offer "unlimited" downloads. It depends what you want from your ISP.

+1 for the Sticky

www.thinkbroadband.com is a good site to start at - allows you to compare 5 or 6 providers at the same time.

I think the following are good/above average : Zen (but can be on the costlier side, but you get what you pay for), IDnet and Newnet (who I'm with, I cannot fault their service - it will astound you how good they are, it still surprises me to get informative replies back quickly!!).

Compare those three with a few others - Zen usually tops with IDnet and Newnet just behind and most others behind those.

I have just realised that talktalk have moved into our exchange, are they worth migrating from pipex to?
