Hi guys & girls,

I'm interested in a domain name that is showing up as taken on 123-reg.co.uk, but when I try to go to the web page it takes me to a search page as if the website doesn't exist.

Does this mean that someone has bought the domain name but not yet built a website?

Is there any way of finding out who owns the name with the intention of finding out if they would be interested in selling it?

Thanks in advance

Cybersquatter.
Most people working in the interweb industry own a whole shedload that they don't use.
They cost buttons to buy and maintain.
Then when someone comes along who really wants it, BINGO! Payday!

If you PM me the domain name, I'll do a dig around and see if I can help you identify the owner.

not this old nonsense again.

Please look at the difference between:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domaining
&
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cybersquatting

People can own generic, descriptive or similar names and resell them just like you can own land or houses. If people want to buy or rent them , that is also fine.

Setting up a shop called 'Tesco' is not.
