Hi just got a lovely new laptop but now I need to buy a case for it.

Now I want something the looks professional, is practical but also looks good and stylish...basically I am looking for the 'tarts' laptop case...

Any suggestions.....

Don't put it in a flash bag, cos that just shouts "steal me"

I'd try the computer forum.

Personally mine's an Animal bag, so doesn't shout out its holding a (17") laptop - have had too many co-workers mugged in car parks for their blatantly obvious laptop bags. If your co-workers give a stuff about it not being stylish enough, more fool them.

Consider what you'll need to carry in it too though - will it be JUST the laptop, or plug and transformer, a cd drive, cd's, memory sticks, portable mouse etc. etc.....as it can double the size of the bag.

Timbuk2 Hacker here. Vertical messenger bag type, with backpack straps that fold away. Carries a 15" laptop plus all my work crap (power supply, external HDs, a book or two) nicely, with lots of well-thought-out storage. Has survived some pretty epic downpours and kept the contents nice and dry. In fast, has survived daily (ab)use for over a year without any signs of wear at all. Highly recommended.

(but mine's all black - they don't seem to do it any more)

I've always preferred 'rucksack' style bags.
So at least you can throw it on your shoulder whether walking, or riding a bike

I occasionally walk around PC RipOff, but NEVER buy.

Then I saw this (one of the zips was stuck so i got it reduced to £15.00)

rucksack

and as someone else mentioned previously - it's nice and discreet

I recently got a very nice Swiss Army backpack from Costco. It was about £32ish. They also had bags as well for the same price.

I particularly like these:

I've bought luggage from these guys before and it is very good quality and looks yummy.
