Connect my tv and my laptop, so that I can browse youtube, and watch vids etc, and it is shown on the tv screen with sound through the tv also?

The laptop in question is a Sony Vaio VGN-N11H, and the tv is a Sony Bravia KDL40V-3000?

Sorry to be a luddite chaps, I'm sure its easily do able, but i'm not great with technology..........

Should be, just need a VGA D-Sub cable to go from the back of your laptop into the telly smile

Oh, and for the sound you need a 3.5mm jack to phono cable, which is equally easy to find.

While you are doing that, it might be worth grabbing a wireless kb/mouse so you can sit a comfortable distance away from the telly.

And a 3.5mm male to RCA for audio.

Actually, if both the laptop and tv have hdmi, just use that. Audio and Video over one cable.

Thanks all,

The laptop doesn't have a HDMI port, which is a pain, where would the 3.5mm male RCA go into the back of the laptop?
