Really will appreciate it if anyone can help with this!

I have a MacBook and bought the relevant cables to connect it to my Samsung TV.

I have plugged them in etc but I can't get what is showing on my Mac screen to be shown on the TV.

All it seems to want to show is the background from the Mac ie. the desktop with no icons.

Anyone have a clue why it will pick that up but nothing else?

Cheers in advance!

Have a look in System Preferences-Displays and check if you have Mirror display activated. This should then show the same screen shot. Another tip, if you close the MB you will get full native res on the Samsung, you must be plugged into the mains power for this to work...don't ask me why.

Brilliant. Thanks.

Have managed to get the picture on the screen and its watchable but it seems to cut off the top!

Have a play with the overscan button in "options"...

Are you running VGA, DVI or just Comp Video to the Samsung?
